Week 2 of the Football Wagga Riverina Cup saw our U18’s take to the field for their first Cup clash against Henwood Park FC. Despite warm conditions and playing with no bench, our boys put in a performance to be proud of.

The first half was tightly contested with both teams launching solid attacks, and our City boys defending with determination. However, Henwood Park FC managed to slot in the only goal of the half, setting the tone for the match.

Second Half Struggles

After a much-needed halftime break, Henwood Park FC came out strong, scoring again early in the second half. While our team clawed one goal back, fatigue set in, and Henwood Park capitalised on our weary legs by adding two more unanswered goals, eventually winning the game 4-1.

A special thank you goes out to Leeton United Football Club for hosting and taking excellent care of us during the match. Their support was greatly appreciated!

Looking Ahead

By the luck of the draw, despite this being our only game in the home and away rounds, our boys will progress to the quarter finals. The journey continues as they prepare for the next challenge in the cup.
